Exciting Mountain Hikes to Mount Kilimanjaro and Mount Meru

Hiking to Mt. Kilimanjaro and Mt. Meru

The beautiful city of Moshi is the most common starting point for Kilimanjaro hikes. We offer routes with their own unique specifications for our guests’ individual needs: from routes for less experienced hikers to the most adventurous and experienced hikers. Our professionally trained, fluent English speaking guide will take you on tour, starting in Mount Kilimanjaro’s beautiful rain forest, through moorland and a rock-strewn desert, up to barren desert, and finally at midnight: up to the Uhuru Peak.  The final summit trek is often scheduled to begin at midnight in order to offer our guests mind-blowing views at the “Roof of Africa” on sunrise.

Get in touch with us! We are more than happy to recommend a route that fits your hiking experience, and to offer you a tailor-made holiday package that suits your needs.

Marangu Route, 6 days scheduled trekking

The Marangu Route is the most common route and the only route that offers accommodation in huts. It is the most recommended route for the less trained hiker due to its gradual incline increase.

Machame Route, 6 days scheduled trekking

This is often considered one of the more scenic routes up Kilimanjaro, offering sensational views. The Machame Route is suited for both first-time hikers, as well as slightly more experienced hikers.

Lemosho Route, 7 days scheduled trekking

The Lemosho Route is one of the newer routes to hike up Mount Kilimanjaro. This route offers an ideal balance of low crowds, high achievement rates, and a beautiful scenery. You also get to see the breathtaking Kilimanjaro from many angles as you begin your ascent on the quieter side of the mountain and then meet up with the other paths several days into your trek.

Umbwe Route, 6 days scheduled trekking

The Umbwe Route is one of the newer routes and the toughest route to climb Mount Kilimanjaro. The more experienced hiker will enjoy this uncrowded route with beautiful scenery.

Mount Meru, 3 days scheduled trekking

Mount Meru is Tanzania’s second largest and Africa’s fifth largest mountain. Located in Arusha National Park, our adventurous hikers have great chances to spot wildlife on their hike.
