6 Days Kilimanjaro Marangu Route

6 Days Marangu Route

Experience the Trip of your Life

This beautiful route is the oldest and most established route to hike up Kilimanjaro. The advantages of this route are the accommodation in huts instead of tents and its lower price. The gradual slope makes this a relatively easy hike and is, like the Machame Route, recommended for less trained hikers. However, we always recommend to train and prepare yourself extensively before going on the journey to conquer Africa’s highest mountain.

On this tour our trained English speaking guides will always remind you of the Swahili proverb: “polepole ndio mwendo” (Slow is how we go). The gradual slope seems very inviting for hiking up the mountain very fast, which quickly can lead to the infamous altitude sickness. In order to increase the success rate for our guests, we therefore offer this hiking package with one day for acclimatization, at which you will explore the fascinating alpine desert, and return to the Horombo hut for sleeping. This will allow your body to get used to the altitude and be fit for the following adventurous, but physically demanding next two days.
